Next Tuesday (at 10 a.m.) is the last session of the Summer Reading Program held at the Rexroat Prairie Cabins, so, for sure, plan on attending. And don’t forget that Pete the Cat will be at the Virginia Memorial Public Library next Thursday, June 26 at 10 a.m. to help kick off the Summer Reading Program sessions that will be held at the library on Tuesdays during July (July 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29) at 10 a.m.. So if you are “dappled and drowsy,” and you’ve “got no deeds to do, no promises to keep,” and you’re “lookin’ for fun and feelin’ groovy,” plan to be at the library next Thursday at 10 am to hang out for a little while with Pete the Cat.

If you would like to make a monetary donation to support the local Summer Reading Programs and the children’s collections at the Virginia Memorial Public Library, that would be greatly appreciated. In addition to monetary donations, we also appreciate the donation of books (old or new). Don’t forget that the Virginia Public Library is a memorial library. You can honor people and local businesses or remember special people through the donation of a book, and we are glad to note the names of businesses or people in the front of donated books.

This Saturday (June 14th) is the 2nd Saturday of June; therefore, the Virginia Memorial Public Library will be open from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Come in and get some summer reads, and kids of all ages can color a June Bug–June Bugs need all the help they can get in the area of beautification.

Consider taking a Writing/Reading Adventure…
